Pluto Transiting Aquarius: What it Means For You, and . . . a look at Donald Trump's Chart on Election Day
Here’s Donald Trump’s Chart on Election Day - Natal in the Center, Solar Arc Directions in the Middle, Transits in the Outer Wheel. More on President-elect Trump in a moment.
There’s a lot written about Pluto transiting into Aquarius, and I was tempted to not write yet another blog on it. However, since there’s a lot of worrisome interpretations out there making people freak out on forums, I’ve decided to give my two cents. We are all individuals with our own special consciousness. We will not all respond to any transiting influence the same way. With the outer planets - there is a collective reaction that can be quite different than our own individual reactions, and yet, we all belong to this huge collective we call humanity. We are all affected by Pluto at all times, no matter where it is. We have the freedom to ignore it, but usually, if we do, something happens to make us aware of it, again.
November 19, 2024, transiting Pluto entered Aquarius and will stay for nearly twenty years. Pluto always asks us to evolve into our potential - our higher nature - our authentic Selves. Aquarius is a sign that also signifies change - but it’s transiting Uranus that usually ushers in big, sudden changes. Pluto is powerful - demanding of slow but effective change into your higher potential. It’s action isn’t usually sudden. It’s more like a slow-moving train with the weight of many cars behind the Pluto engine. It slowly climbs the mountain (that needs change) with its demands until it crosses over and the change has happened. As you listen to Pluto chugging along in your inner ear, you may be inspired with new ideas to make positive changes (Aquarius), IF you are listening. If you are not, something could happen that requires you to make those changes. We’re human beings. We’re supposed to grow and change and become during our lifetimes. Pluto is determined to help.
The reason Pluto in Aquarius is stirring up such negative interpretations, is because Aquarius is known for its revolutionary thinking. Aquarius tends to give inspired, out-of-the- box thinking - all aimed at making the world a better place. But revolutions are messy, usually about breaking things down. So, we’ve got a planet demanding change, and a sign, good at creating inspired changes (for better or worse) in the same area of the chart.
Looking at Donald Trump’s chart, it isn’t such a big surprise that revolutionary Donald Trump won the US election earlier this month. Uranus and Saturn rule Aquarius. First, he has Uranus conjunct his Sun in his natal chart. He’s naturally Aquarian. He won the election with transiting Uranus conjunct his MC (career and social standing) within one degree! Uranus by solar arc directions was conjunct his ASC within 3 degrees on election day. And with Pluto about to enter Aquarius, it is probably no mistake that our collective was ready to give him another shot. He’s the Uranus-Aquarius surprise in politics. He’s the Aquarius loose cannon that is certain to shake things up and tear things down. He says he will and seems determined to do so! I believe him. It’s really amazing to me how his chart shows his win.
Do I think we’re going to see some big changes in the world? You bet! Will those changes impact us? You bet. But, how we respond - what we do with these changes - will determine how we fare - at least in large part.
LIFE ITSELF IS CHANGE
The way to deal with life and change is to be open, adaptable, and flexible. Expect change, embrace change, know that nothing stays the same. The more we dig in our heals and hope for a nice, easy, safe life where everything goes the way we want it to, the more disappointed we will be. We simply do not have control over everything. The only real power we have is to change ourselves. Our attitude toward life is really important. We need to be calm, objective, and discerning in good times and bad. We all have challenges. This is what I call, acceptance. Accept life as it is, not what you want it to be. Work to be happy and joyful in bad times as well as in good ones.
I always tell people that fearing a transit - fearing change - is the last thing you want to do. USE the Pluto energy to make the changes you want to make. USE any transiting energy by tuning into it and reflect upon it. How is it impacting you? What kinds of changes do you want to make in yourself? In your career? In your relationships? How can that planet help you?

Let’s consider how Pluto in Aquarius is going to affect you. Look at your chart. What house is Pluto transiting? Determine the meaning of the area of life it is directly impacting. Pluto will be going through Donald Trump’s 6th house - so he may need to change some health routines and habits, be more organized and attentive to the details of his service (a 6th house theme). Maybe he’ll change some ideas about how he wants to govern. I don’t know. It’s up to him how he uses his Pluto energy. Hopefully, to his and (our) benefit. (I’m an eternal optimist - Moon in Sag person).
Generally, I don’t think a transiting planet - even Pluto - in the 6th house of health indicates health issues. Health issues arise with Pluto anywhere and for a variety of reasons. So, whether or not you have planets in your 6th house in Aquarius, I don’t think it means you’ll have health issues. You still could have health issues, but it’s more complicated than one transiting planet.
Then, look to any aspects Pluto is making to your natal planets. I use tight orbs - within a degree or two - so when TR Pluto is at 3 degrees Aquarius, look to see if you have any natal planets between 2 and 4 degrees. It is affecting those planets. It’s also be affecting planets within 45 degrees of the 3rd degree, so you’ll need to do a little math for the semi-square and sesqui-square. When TR Pluto is conjunct, square, semi-square, sesqui-square, or opposite a natal planet, there’s is a bigger challenge to change how you use that planet in its sign and house. So, you need to reflect upon it. How can you use Pluto’s energy to make positive, effective changes in your life?
Now that Pluto is in Aquarius, whatever changes you want to make, could be accelerated - quicker. Aquarius is an air sign, a quick-thinking, intuitive sign, and the energy is electric. You could be more inspired than usual. You could have insights and visions more easily. You could, if you are tuned in, be able to take advantage of intuitive thinking that benefits you.
Aquarius time is a time to be especially adaptable, quick on your feet, ready for last minute changes or opportunities. Embrace the idea that although losses are difficult to take, they do present new opportunities. So, check your attitude. Yes, grieve your losses, but look for the gift in them - even the most difficult losses. What is the alternative?
Be the change you want to see in the world. It’s an old saying that still applies. It doesn’t matter if you are an activist or a solitary recluse on a mountain top. Who you are, the way you live your life, matters. Try to be your authentic self - work toward your innate potential. That’s different for all of us. Be YOU - the best you, you can be. We’re all imperfect, and never will be perfect. But we can feel good about ourselves and our lives, if we work toward being better. Put your energy there, and you’ll be using Pluto in Aquarius in a positive way. Pluto will support you in your efforts. No one - even Pluto - can ask more of you.
